The Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD) are now
referred to as Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder and broken down into the following
subtypes:
Combined Type, Predominantly Inattentive
Type, and Predominantly Hyperactive Impulsive Type.
It was once thought that ADHD was a childhood
disorder. It is now recognized that symptoms very
often continue into and last throughout adulthood.
These disorders may surface and have an impact in
academic, occupational and social situations.
Mental health professionals who specialize in
Attention Deficit Disorders can provide effective
coaching and counseling services that allow
individuals and families to successfully navigate
the challenges posed by ADHD.
While there are different tests for ADHD that may
indicate the possibility of someone having this
disorder, none of these can provide a definitive
diagnosis. The disorder can only be
diagnosed by taking a thorough a clinical history
and the use of extensive symptom checklists.
Consultation with a licensed clinician, who is
experienced in working with ADHD, is necessary for
making an accurate diagnosis.
Please call me for a free telephone consultation so
